My First Year on WordPress: 2014 in review

1:05 pm (Tues)

Thanks to all who made my first year on WordPress a success! You’ve visited my blog, commented, and supported my efforts to share my thoughts on life and the writing process. As I’ve blogged during the past few months, I’ve felt more inspired to do my best to share positive messages and work towards my goals to complete my book — Yes! I finally did — and publish more in literary journals. Thanks to the 1,000+ visitors who stopped by. 2014 wouldn’t be the same without you 🙂

Posts You Loved Most

In the past 10 months since I started this blog, I’ve published 28 posts, my first being on March 26th, after a few friends encouraged me to finally start my own blog. Below are the top 10 most viewed posts during the year.

Countries Where My Visitors Reside

While checking the 2014 report for my blog, it came as a surprise to see that visitors from a total of 57 countries viewed content on my site. The most popular countries in which my visitors reside are as follows:

  • United States (not surprising)
  • Jamaica (we lickle but we tallawah!)
  • UK
  • Canada
  • Germany (Really?)
  • Australia
  • Sweden (Of course! Must be my Swedish Facebook friends keeping track…)
  • Mexico (…not sure what to say here… no entiendo?)
  • India
  • Botswana (I think I know who this was — my only friend from Botswana keeping faithful watch 🙂 )

Plans for 2015

Mhhh? Not sure what to say, except that I plan to continue blogging faithfully. Hopefully next year I’ll have more successes to share. And definitely more pictures. Oh! I forgot, I’ve been considering a creative series where I post articles about creative folks I know and the work they do. For instance, I know a church sister who makes flowers from breadfruit stalks which I mentioned in a post a few months ago. Just waiting on her to send some pictures of her work.

If you know anyone who you think would like to be featured on my blog in order to advertise their creative endeavours please let me know. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Have Happy 2015 when it comes. And thanks again for playing your part in making my first year blogging a success 🙂
